We feel that it is important to make certain that our community is aware of the many resources to assist you, or someone that you know that may be experiencing difficulties at school, home, or work. Connection is not just nice to have, it is essential to one’s health and well-being. People with meaningful connections have:
- Less stress
- Better overall health
- Healthier habits
- Better sense of belonging
Connecting can be as deep as a heart-to-heart conversation or as simple as a smile with someone. Meaningful connections can come from people in any role in your life, such as a neighbor, friend, family member, co-worker, student, coach, teacher, counselor, minister, or community member. There are things that you can do to help you take care of your mental health:
- Talk to someone you trust!
- Take care of your physical health (take a walk, yoga, jog, ride a bike)
- Do activities you enjoy or start a new one (read a book, go thrifting, go outside)
- Focus on your surroundings for two minutes – take a deep breath!
- Don’t be afraid to say “No”
- Tell yourself you will be fine!
